Our beginner workshops run through the basics in a step-by step format with our lovely and very talented teacher, Amy! By the end, you’ll feel confident to set-up and start using a sewing machine! We have a maximum of 6 people in our workshops – perfect for a personal teaching experience. WHAT’S INCLUDED 1. Understanding your Sewing Machine Before using the sewing machine, it’s important to familiarise yourself with the main parts. We will run through key features of the sewing machine, how to set up the machine and the basic stitches. 2. Your First Project! We will show you how to make your very own mini pouch. 3. This workshop is perfect for those who are familiar with a sewing machine and are ready to expand their handmade wardrobe. Our workshops run through the basics in a step-by step format with our lovely and very talented teacher, Amy. By the end, you’ll have the skillsets and confidence to continue to grow your own handmade wardrobe! This workshop requires basic sewing skills and confidence setting up your sewing machine and stitching seams. We have a maximum of 6 people in our workshops – perfect for a personal teaching experience. What you will learn: – How to draft a bodice block from your measurements. – Sew a toile in Calico to perfect the fit. This will mean all the proportions will be in the correct places (long body, larger bust etc..) – You will also be shown tips on how to move the dart around and create different styles.
